It’s hard to know how to start this to catch someones attention enough to get them willing to consider becoming a pen pal.  I am a 32-year-old man who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 17, ended up making bad choices because of drugs, and now I’m paying the price.  I recently became ill in here with pneumonia, and was care-flighted to a Galveston hospital, where I nearly died of sepsis.  Facing death away from everything and everyone you know really forces you to face some hard truths.

I have at minimum, two more years in here and it would be nice to make some connections and build friendships that will help me make it through being locked away.  Looking forward to receiving your letters!
