In this day and age I know how cumbersome life can be, so be encouraged as you press on because I believe we’re headed toward brighter days. Changes are coming!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my page. If you’re wondering about the dog, her name is Blanca, which is fitting for her. My Spanish-speaking readers will get that. 🙂 I’m a dog trainer in the PAWS in Prison Program, and I’m working toward becoming a certified dog trainer. I received my certification in pet care and management back in April. Now that was a tough class! I’ve trained 36 dogs, and helped to find their forever homes. Being able to do this is really amazing and indescribable. This program helped me realize that I wasn’t what so many had led me to believe: a failure, useless, and unworthy. I vow know that failure is an event, not an identity, and I’m more than the worst thing I’ve done.

A little bit more about me: I’m the head baker in the kitchen. I can make pretty much anything from scratch, pastry and bread wise.

I’m a musician. I play the guitar, bass guitar, and drums. I’m the unit’s praise team’s bassist. I’m a lover of music, period.

I enjoy reading both fiction and non-fiction. I’m into watching series like The Chi, Ghost, and The Walking Dead. The unit is showing Power Book Force during the weekends. I’ve seen most of it before, but catching the episodes I missed.

I know that it would be good to talk a little bit about my childhood and where I’m from, it’s just that it’s a hurtful topic for me. As we get to know each other I’ll open up about it, but I will say that I come from a very violent and abusive home.
